Please join Susan G. Komen Charlotte for one of our upcoming Grant Writing Workshops.
NEW THIS YEAR: Due to Komen Charlotte’s new electronic grant system (“Komen Grants Portal”), it is mandatory for any organization who intends to apply for a grant to attend one of our upcoming workshops workshops.
Komen Charlotte provides annual community grants for programs that fit in our funding priorities within our 13-county service area. We invite you to attend a grant writing workshop to learn more about the funds available, and how to apply for the upcoming April 1, 2020-March 31, 2021 grant cycle.
Please note, our funding priorities will be prioritized in the following order:
1. Reducing barriers to care (screenings, diagnostics, treatment, mobile mammography, transportation)
2. Breast cancer education (evidence-based education that leads to action)
3. Patient navigation (in Cabarrus or Mecklenburg Counties)
The workshops are designed for current grantees as well as potential applicants. To be eligible for a grant, the tax-exempt and nonprofit organization must provide services within at least one county in our 13-county service area. Applications must be submitted by the deadline of Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 5pm EST.
We are offering workshops at two locations this year:
Date: Thursday, October 24, 2019
Time: 9:00 am – Noon
Location: Hal Marshall Anex Building, 618 N. College Street, Charlotte, NC
Date: Tuesday, October 29, 2019
Time: 9:00 am – Noon
Location: NorthEast Plaza Building, 45 Lake Concord Road, Concord, NC
During the workshop, we will cover application guidelines, a detailed review of the Komen Charlotte RFA, tips for writing a grant proposal for Komen Charlotte and how to use the Komen Grants Portal to apply for a grant. There will be ample opportunities for Q&A.
Please forward this invitation to any appropriate persons within your organization or to notify other potential organizations that might be interested in attending this workshop. Keep in mind that attendance at this workshop does not guarantee funding.
If you plan to attend, RSVP to Sarah Bailey (email@example.com). Please make sure to include the workshop location you will be attending, as well as the name, title and email address for each person attending from your organization. We hope to see you there!
